The association Amici della Musica Mario Pedrazzi di Modena has been organising concerts and cultural events since 1919. In 1966 the association changed its name from the original designation of "Societą degli Amici della Musica di Modena" to "Societą degli Amici della Musica Mario Pedrazzi di Modena" in honour of its founder Mario Pedrazzi.
The association is renowned in Italy and abroad for its prestigious concert seasons featuring some of the leading names in the international music scene as well as young talents and winners of major competitions.
The association’s original intention was to organise concerts for a select audience of music lovers, focusing in particular on chamber music. In recent years it has adapted to a growing need to promote an appreciation of classical music amongst a wider audience and to attract new concert-goers while maintaining the quality of the musical events.

  Claudio Rastelli artistic director
Claudio Rastelli began his musical studies at the age of eight in Alessandro Materassi’s violin classes. Seven years later he began studying composition and subsequently pianoforte, gaining diplomas in both subjects at the Parma Conservatory.
Camillo Togni was certainly the most influential figure during his training as a composer. He later studied at the Accademia Chigiana in Siena (under Franco Donatoni) and the Fiesole School of Music (again under Camillo Togni). He studied piano under Daniela Landuzzi, then after his diploma continued his studies under Pier Narciso Masi. A pianist and composer, his works have been performed in Italy, France, Germany, Holland, Switzerland, Spain, Poland, Serbia, the United States and Japan. His compositions have been broadcast by Radio Tre. He is involved in numerous musical dissemination activities and gives seminars on music history and appreciation and concert-lessons. Since 2001 he has been working with the Teatro Comunale di Modena on the Scuola-Cittą project by giving concert-lessons on opera and classical music for schoolchildren. He is artistic director of Amici della Musica di Modena and the AdM Ensemble.
